Just caught highlights of the game on S4C after Cardiff v Glasgae..

To summerise,

*Aimless defensive kick from NO'C was primarily the cause of O'sfirst try and then Tuohy at fault for showing Orpresys attacker the outside and then not making the tackle. Duffy was forced to cover across then and our inside defenders didn't track the supporting runners who which let them take the pass inside and go over untouched...

*Gav unlucky for first try chance from breakoout and kick ahead by Tuohy, no chance to collect ball in hands and he had to check to kick the ball ahead and that gave Biggar a head start for the chase.

*Good patience for our first try, and clinical execution when they decided to go for the jugular..

*Second O's try was ridiculously bad from a Connacht perspective, backs have to hold their hands up here. O's won free kick from scrum just outside their 22, went to run not from mark and were called back. Connacht players dawdled getting back into defensive alignment and Bigger just hoisted a big up and under from the free kick. Not one Connacht player took charge to claim it, Murphy actually backed away and then Gav late coming in to challenge for the ball. Ball bounced off Tipurics shoulder into Dirksens hands for a clear run in...

*Swifty unlucky for penalty, he didn't deviate from his line to block O's kick and chaser. Home town decision there I'm afraid.

*Good patience again for our second try and a beautiful cross kick for Duffy to claim and slide over...

So basically they scored from our errors or infringements and we created two tries....

The positives - cut out the more basic errors and maintain concentration and we could have won that comfortably...

Overall I'd say I was relieved with the point but dissapointed with the result. It sounded like the win was there for us against what is lets not kid ourselves a second string Ospreys side. I would like to see us be more clinical in these games in both defence and offence, certainly we will need to improve for when the RWC is over and in particular for our HEC fixtures.

The only positives really are a brace of tries for Gavin & we came away with something...

::) dissappointed with the result but happy that we are playing the full 80 and are at least picking up BP on the road, feel like we are making progress and I for one am in a far better "head" place than anytime over the previous several seasons, IMO We can "consolidate" as a midtable team on this form

delighted with the point. Really is a case of one gained, not 3 lost, for me.

Didnt expect to get anything from this game tbh, so I'm delighted with a losing BP, and with Munster and Ulster failing to pick up any points, it makes the result all the sweeter.
Thought we had blown it at the end.

Great to get the lbp great display from the lads from what i heard on the radio. Any news on the injuries on griffin & loxton? Feel bad for Loxton as it was his time to shine only to go off injured. Hope the two are ok

Have to say a big well done to Gavin Duffy, he seems to be really taking to the captains role this season, as well as bagging 3 tries in 2 games, brilliant stuff. He is sharing top spot with Darren Cave with 3 tries each at the moment

Yeah, at the start of the season you would be happy enough with 14 points after 5 games, but can't help feeling that points were missed out on here and at Murrayfield.  The lads really need to cut down on the errors and be more clinical when scoring chances present themselves.  The WC has given them the opportunity to iron these things out and hopefully they'll have everything squared away for the trip to the RDS.  But certainly good to be in the top half of the table.

With this performance, the game against the Ospreys in The Sportsground should be one we expect to win!

Great bonus point for the lads, Ospreys were lucky to get the win. A bonus point is what we all would have taken before kick off, but when we secure good ball we need to be able to protect it. To many times we turned over ball to the Ospreys when in great positions on the pitch. Well done Connacht a hard earned point. Hope the injuries are not that severe.

I'll happily take that LBP, 100%.

That's five games and points from all of them. That's more than the other provinces can say and they've faced the same opposition as we have in Dragons, Edinburgh and Ospreys. Even when you lose you have the chance to move up the table as long as you're getting something out of the game.

That was an incredibly resillient performance from the guys today. And they're doing it as part of the big picture, a squad that can handle injuries and still be competitive.

Hopefully James Loxton is ok, and if he needs time to recover then we have Fetu'u and Mark McCrea to come in and do their best as well. This is great stuff for us at the moment.

The coaches will say all the right things about not being happy with a loss, but in the grand scheme of things we've done very well today and left Ospreylia with points, which is more than many teams will do this season. Congrats to all involved.

I thought we had lost the bonus point the well done, yes diom tend to agree we were under the posts a few times and apparently biggar kicked some massive penaltys ...but ill take the bonus point for sure..seemed to be a powereful performance and an improvement on the first 4...hopefully we will keep getting better as the season develops...another bonus point next weekend and hopefully a home win then the following week against Cardiff and we will be in good shape facing into the Heineken Cup Campaign :)

Yeah it's great to be picking up these points. It's a pity we couldn't convert more pressure though. Seemed to be all Connacht for a while there.

Taking points from all our games so far, vital in the long run of the tournament, as well as staying competitive and building confidence

26-21. Well done NOC. Had a poor game last week but came up with some vital interventions tonight. We could have got more and we seem to be our own worst enemies at time but we battled for a point, no doubt the fighting spirit in this team.
