It's amazing how the fisticuffs with Swifty and the subsequent double sin binning got the Clan's terrace really going. This is turn had an effect on both the team and the ref.

Fantastic atmosphere today in the clan terace! Especially in the second half.  Thought Henry, Tiernan, McCrea, Rodney & McCarty were very good

Delighted with the result. It was a scrappy game but considering we hardly saw the ball for 50 mins or so to come out with a win is huge.

At this stage with so many changes in the squad the main thing you want to see is that the attitude is right and the players are willing to play as a unit and we saw that today. Ok we made some poor mistakes and took some poor options at times but at 3-11 we hadn't played well, the ref was making some bizarre decisions, the weather was poor, it would have been easy to let the game slip but we showed a great appetite for the game in the final 30.

The two wingers showed good signs on a day not designed for wingers, Henry Fa'aili showed good signs in attack and defence, was slightly unlucky in the first half, did well for McCrea's try though. Impressed with Jarvis in terms of getting the backline going and keeping the opposition guessing, unfortunately with the ref giving up on the scrums and a poor lineout early on he didn't get as many chances. Reynecke showed positive signs when he came on and George showed leadership in the 2nd half. The two lads in the 2nd row don't need to be mentioned we know what we'll get. Superb!

Good atmosphere for a messy Saturday afternoon and the crowd and atmosphere will only improve if the team keep doing the business. Roll on Edinburgh!

Good to see David Gannon back, with the games coming thick and fast its good to have another option in an area where we're a bit short handed at present.

Great result, some very positive performances.

Thought flavin had a great game, was impressed with reynecke when he came on also.

Interesting to see Gannon on the bench.

That was the most INCREDIBLE atmosphere at a league match I have EVER been at (excluding Interpros). The Clan Terrace was feral once Swifty was binned, it was brilliant. Can't wait for the bigger matches - official attendance 3600 but probably more like 2500.

It's like a whole new experience in the Sportsground now - better selection of food and the Clan bar is perfect for rugby - we couldn't hear the crowd from the main stand as we were making SO MUCH NOISE - cannot wait for the next home match.

Good point Overstrander...but I do think Reynecke was more impressive!

And losing lineouts are solely the fault of the hooker?

It's not just the lineouts.  Flavin is fine, but Reynecke is a difference maker.

In my opinion, Ethienne Reynecke should be our #1 hooker.  That guy makes things happen.  The complexion of that game changed (for the better) when he came in there with his rucks and carries.

They didn't necessarily play well as a team but individually a lot of players did ok. I thought Tiernan O'Halloran showed some class, as did Eoin Griffin. Henry F drew in a few players and McCrea showed some stunning pace throughout.
George got better as the game went on and both Flavin and Ethienne did well.
I think I remember reading somewhere that this was the referee's first time officiating a professional match and it showed. He had no authority about the pitch and seemed not to know what to do on occasion.

It goes back to what Eric said before last season when he was introduced as the new coach. It was about not dropping the heads when we go behind, and fighting for at least an LBP, getting within range of a win, keeping going. It's clear that message is as strong this year as before.

A tough match, and we're lucky Scarlets were missing their internationals, but we're making our own luck and will be tougher as we get more used to each other. Very happy to see.

To be fair he was incredible last night. Would be nice to still have him. For depth like...  ;)

Only kidding about Fionn, he'll be fine at Leinster if they back you can't train his instincts or footwork. If it doens't work out he can always come back, we'll need to strengthen the squad for HEC next season.... ;D

What I like about the win is that it is a win with us playing badly, which means there's room for improvement. Under previous coaches in that situation we panicked and usually blew the game in the last few minutes....

Try for McRea totally deserved, effort being put in by him is outstanding. Fionn who.....??

Yep on JustinTV, run by TwomintPork [Munster fan obviously] he has two different streams on the go usually.....

Getting Wilko back is a huge bonus, he made a big difference at scrumtime and I'm sure he'll be starting soon enough.

More games under the belt for Big George too after his disaster in Japan, he's good at the minute but a few more games and he'll be back to his brilliant best no doubt.
