Good luck to them and him if they are, I doubt it but there may be some truth in it. If it is true figures may not be the vast sums that others expect.

One thing that may actually help is that I believe the may have charitable trust status (as might the other branches), the requirement being that any profit is ploughed back into development. From a donators side it's tax efficient and in the UK the charity can claim the tax element back as well as long as the donator signs an agreement that's sent to the Tax Office...

Congrats to Ulster. They've a strong base of committed fans and deserve an improved ground.

On the signing front, I'll be interested to see if the impending NIQ rule has an affect on the length of contract offered to any SH player signed. It might be an indication have how the other provinces view the chances of the rule actually being implemented.

Who other provinces sign always has relevance for us, especially if they are raisisng the bar (on the pitch and fincially)...

Her's a link to the main Ravenhill Stadium plan -

Look pretty impressive... epicdocs.planningni.gov.uk/ViewDocument.aspx?uri=659054&ext=PDF

There should be a major signing anouncement from them soon, and it's a biggie.

It's Jerome Kaino, with Wannenburg of to Stade Fraincais

Apparently Bowe is in talks to return to Ireland, but which province he ends up with is not decided. If Ulster get him that would certainly improve them, but there is another signing in the pipeline.

But I'm not saying anything too soon because we've all been there (Ben**n St**ley)

This is also good news for Ireland, in the event of us ever getting to host anything.
3 big club rugby stadiums, plus Landsdown, Croke Park and other GAA stadiums

I'd imagine it's Tommy Bowe, it being his contract with the Hairsprays is up soon and they're not swimming in the green stuff.

Might I suggest a name change to "Belfast South Africa" as it would ring more true than, say, London Irish? I think Saracens is already taken...

Yep thinking along the same liness last night actualy, Ospreys are on the back foot and Tommy is looking a shadow of the player has has been. Could be down to injuries of course, but I reckon he's done his time in Wales. Personally think that he'd flourish in France, even if tey threw gazillions at him he should steer well clear of the Aviva Premiership.....

On the stadium development, am pleased for the Nordies. Between them Leinster & Munster can currently carve up the event options, so it's good that Ulster & Belfast City will be able to compete for the likes of Pro12 & Amlin Cup finals...

If you want to have a nosey at the planning application the ref is: Z/2010/1319/F
