Well at least there looks to be a good group of us going to be sitting in the same area for the Quins match, so I'll join in with anything and everything.

If you're a Celtic or Footie fan maybe. But not all football chants or songs are necessarily transferable to rugby fans though...

Another thing ti remember for the Stoop is that supporters will be mixed support in the North Stand, because Conancht haven't insisted on an allocation you could just as easily (and sadly) be sat beside a dozen Quins fans..

I completely agree about the difference between football and rugby fans. I think the average rugby fan is probably a little more "reserved" and so it will be more difficult to get them singing anything. That's why I fear it will be very tricky to find something that works. Also, as I said above, I think whatever song is decided on, it needs to be done at home before any attempt to make it travel. Although, if the culk does try to lead this chant at the stoop, can someone please capture it for youtube enjoyment later?!

While N17 is a great song, my concern is it wouldn't translate well to the terraces - are we supposed to just sing the "I wish I was on that N17, stone walls and the grass is green" line repeatedly?

At least this celtic inspired chant works - as the video demonstrates.

For what it's worth, I know quite a few folks who would offer a TRIPLE facepalm for ripping off someone else's chant, so...

O:-)

What about if we COMBINED the two of these?

"Connacht - Connacht
Connacht - Connacht
Come on you boys in green - Come on you boys in green
Come on you boys in green - Come on you boys in green
I wish I was on that N17, stone walls and the grass is green!
I wish I was on that N17, stone walls and the grass is green!"

(or something to that effect)

Class, wouldnt that be a great way to call or greet the team onto the pitch instead of someone over a pa system.

It's not stealing. Every team in every sport does it. I don't see the big deal. Plus it'll get our own fans and their fans going. What more do you want...

Yeah...just think it's a lot more special to create your own traditions.  That's all.  I suppose BOTH this chant and the N17 song could be used.

This is impressive, no doubt, but I'm not really all that keen on "borrowing" traditions from other clubs.  I really think we need our own traditions.  Why don't we stick to the Saw Doctors' N17 idea that was gaining momentum a couple weeks back?  Does anyone really respect supporters who just steal other supporters' songs?
