Will the Connacht Clan pins be available for purchase to season ticket holders?

Actually it's an interesting question, because as LGWT posted on the old site they are very tradeable items amongst opposing supporters at games..

So once CC merchandise is set up for online, woud be good to include any stock not used in CC mailout for sale to members...

I'm saying the same thing there S_P. I think comparing us to the far more populous OLSC at this stage is a little early. They are what we are modelling ourselves on though so we'll get there eventually.
They have a few years and many more volunteers on us yet, but we're looking to introduce the same kind of services as them so hopefully sooner rather than later.

OLSC didn't get there on day one, but they have useful knowledge that can be tapped into. Obviously Leinster have a much bigger professional operation to support their enterprise but the OLSC do contribute their time/expertise and energy as well. Connacht likewise needs to generate and make use of any volunteer experience that may be available. Spread the load across those who can and will help out...

Better identification of jobs/tasks that can be farmed out to willing volunteers will surely free up manpower and enable new projects to emerge....

We'll agree to disagree on that Diom, but to me jerseys, beanie and scarves are the staple items of supporters merchandise.

If they were readily and easily available for all I would be of a different mind, but giving away scarves to season ticket holder only when there are none available for non-season ticket holders to some would be slightly insulting…

I’m not suggesting making the STH scarves available for Non-STH’s, but there should be Scarves available for Non-STH’s to purchase…

I wouldn't call it insulting, it's a little present.

It's not as if we're all wearing togas to matches and the ST holders are the only ones allowed to have purple trim because they're are members of the Roman senate :-)

I think "insulting" is going a bit far S_P. The fact of the matter is that this was part of the package for season ticket holders. It was marketed as exclusive then and it would be a little two-faced to make it non-exclusive now.

Merchandising & Marketing has always been an achilles heal for Connacht, so anything on the merchandising gap that the Connacht Clan can take on to fill the gap would be a big improvement (as well as help build funds for the Supporters Club, which can be invested back into Connacht Rubgy via sponsorship of Academy players etc..)…

By comparison I get the Leinster newsletters (to keep an eye out on what the others are up to morkeshing wise), and not a week goes bye that I’m not deleting a new email from the Leinster Shop advertising some new promotion or new merchandising line. And that’s separate from their rugby newsletters of course naturally…

Yep, I think you have brought the point of merchandise (or lack thereof) up before S_P. We have indeed been talking to Connacht Rugby about the lack of official merchandise, and in particular the lack of green merchandise... all well and good having a navy jacket but if you want to show your support it is pretty useless. They have agreed that there needs to be some work done, and the Connacht Clan hoodie and tee-shirt (available to all by the way) is a way of addressing it from a Connacht Clan point of view.
They do have the beanie hats this year though, which is nice. It's crazy alright that there is no official Connacht Rugby scarfs and gloves. The Connacht Clan might step in to fill the gap if necessary.

I don't think so Sligsup. They were ordered based on the amount of season tickets sold, and I think that they are exclusive to season ticket holders.

Which seems a little crazy and slightly insulting seeing there is no alternative Scarf available for supporters. All very well making it exclusive if there is something similar available for non-season ticket holders..

Is there anyone on the supporters committee specifically looking at offcial merchandise and where Connacht/Rugbytech/Elverys needs to be improving and meeting the supporters requirments? Obviously not much can be done for this season, but certainly some recommendations could and should be made for next..
