Excellent performance last night. Our backrow dominating a back row with the English Number 8 and also Robshaw who the English media are calling for to be not only in the English Six Nations team, but to potentially captain it, was really impressive. Mul was the outstanding forward on the pitch.

It was also really great to see Griffin and Tiernan make the step up to the next level with no problems.

Some of the kicking by Nikora and Duffy was excellent and the set piece was a definite highlight.

Roll on Toulose! I'm loving this Heineken Cup experience already!

To be fair there aren't many fans on the Quins board too up in arms.

I didn't think it was a dirty match, but there were a couple of incidents. Not enough to spoil the game, but enough to give a fan a rant if he's looking for one.

Welcome to the board Darragh.

Was at the game last night, if you had seen Muldoon's face as they walked round clapping the fans at the end of the game it was beyond crestfallen. The poor man was distraught at giving that pen away at the end that robbed us of the BP. What an outstanding game he had along with Duffy

Can only echoe other people's thoughts on how well the team played, the commitment and the pride in shirt was unbelievable.

I could see where the Quins fans are coming from in one sense, the late hit on Evans by Macca, Swifty taking Robshaw out for Tiernan's try (which looked half like a slip anyway) and POD with a no arm tackle on Brown. But that would be a terribly one sided view of things as Quins were giving it back just as hard their nr 6 kicking out on one of our lads early in the 2nd half and Brown appeared to stamp on Duffy's face at a ruck around the hour mark. So seems a little rich for the Quins fans to pick us out as dirty, especially given their obvious and largely unpunished habit of lying all over the wrong side of the ruck.

McSharry played with some beautiful hands at times and he Griffin looked like a brilliant partnering. Duffy, Muldoon and Ah You were monsters but the whole team from 1 to 23 should be proud of the performance.

Onwards and Upwards!

My first post!!!

Ever so proud to be a connacht man last night.

Game was there for the taking and it is that last piece of the puzzle to move to a lead and win is what we all hope for over next few seasons.

I thought the team played very well. Solid set piece. Better tactical kicking than Ulster game. More generation of go-forward ball. We asked more questions and were rewarded with 2 great tries.

Had a quick look over on the quins board and some complaining of Connacht being dirty and coming here to hurt. What a load of muck. We have never been deemed a dirty team and we were not last night. Some flutes just get over excited.

What Mike McCarthy needs to do to get more caps i do not know. He is definately one of the top 2 performing locks in the country.

Flavin was everywhere. Thought anderson did really well when he came on. He has a lot of heart.

Few soft tackles really hurt us, and the poor indiscipline for the penalty count. Muldoon should have known better and that really hurt the most. denied a bonus point. He had a great game though.

So onwards and upwards.

Well done to everyone involved in the game at home in the West and those fans scattered all over. It's a great time for us all.

We won scrums, lineouts, breakdowns, possession, territory, try count. It was all about the penalty count. Feel bad pointing fingers but Reynecke's two penalties (offside and hands in THE SCRUM for f's sake) in 3 minutes cost us the bonus point. O'Connor's penalty miss cost us the chance of going ahead after the 2nd try and really bossing the game.

I was surprised Touhy and Ah You were picked after the Ulster game but they really pulled it out tonight.

On the plus side (1) it'll be an angry Connacht side running out at the Sportsground next weekend and (2) I thought we had a mean borderline nasty edge tonight that we someties lack.

Was at the game, great performance. Other teams will take us more seriously now and players will be more open to playing for us. We have to get back into the Heiniken cup in the next year or two to make improvements.

Really proud of the team and I felt our fans were great too!

Onwards and upwards!!!

Proud. Very proud.

An LBP was deserved, even after that performance the lads will be disappointed.

As good a game as they played all season, but still about a half dozen errors that were costly none more so than in that last scrum which cost them the bonus point. Nervy start especially from Duffy of all people, but they came good and really controlled the second half. Thought losing Ofisa would have been more costly, but Muldoon seem to pick it up after he left. George was not as prominent as I would have hoped. POD and Nikora played well and was disappointed to see them come off but Murphy and NOC didn't hurt the cause when they came on.(was it NOC looping pass out to Duffy for the 2nd try?). Griffin and McSharry were very good, exciting to see the young lads play so well on such a big occasion. Only one slight knock on Griffin, thought he could have done a little better on the try opportunity later in the 2nd half, had he straightened up probably would have fixed the defender and given TOH more space.

Playing the undefeated Quins so tightly at the Stoop should do their confidence a world of good, a win against Toulouse in the Sportsground doesn't seem so impossible now.

So happy my pre-match predictions were WAY off. Really proud of the lads and while it would have been nice to get a bonus point, we're not realistically thinking about getting out of the group, so a good performance was what we wanted tonight and we got that, and then some. Next week is going to be an amazing night at the sportsground.

Gutted about the score but they played like heroes. Well done lads. As Alan Quinlan said after the match 'I don't fancy playing for Toulouse when they go the Sportsground...'

Full time score was hard to take, A gargantuan effort from the boys. Gavin stepped up to the plate the second half, Murphy made an impact and his moustache was splendid. We deserved at least a point out there.Muldoon and McCarthy were my two men of the match, such passion and workrate. We certainly made the rugby world sit up and take notice !!! we are not the team that were walked over every game !!!! Rise up Connacht every man a hero.

25-17 ft better than I expected but chucked away the bp at the finish. Dissapointing.

Marler is killing us, far too strong in the tackle and we're not putting him down. Penalty count against us is due to being on the back foot.

Half time resonably happy, I think the referree is refereeing two seperate games, what is a penalty for Connacht is not for Quins and visa versa. But a bit of a set back having Ray Ofisa taken off he was the best player on the park before he got injured. Good finish again from O'Halloran but was made by Griffin. The forwards defence is good but I fear for the second half !!!! apart from O'halloran our back three have been found wanting.Nickora playing OK but needs a better platform.O'Donahue also playing well. Mc'Carthy awesome as is Muldoon.
Hopefully I will be proved wrong in the second half. Come on Connacht
