about Ahki, the fact he wants to stay next season or not will be taken a bit into account too for his gametime

Way to early to make any comparison between Farrell and Ahki. Just let's be glad we have such decent options... Aki, Ahki, Craig, Tom, Griff and others like Darragh who could do a decent job...

Certainly I think Farrell so far has been everything we hoped for when he signed up. Hopefully there's a bit more to come too....

Anyway Farrell shouldn't be an issue for Akhi to re-sign.
Aki is clearly part of Joe's plan. So Akhi has AT Least 8-10 games he's granted to start, even as 3rd choice.

Farrell's only ever started 12/13, admittedly from a low sample (less than 30 pro games). You regularly see centres playing wing, and Farrell has shifted to wing once or twice for Connacht when subs come on, but playing fullback is a whole other thing, and I certainly haven't seen anything in particular (high ball, kicking) that would indicate Farrell would be suited. At present I'd say TOH, Leader, Crosbie, Healy, Kelleher, and Carty would all be ahead of him at 15.

I think anyone thinking of shifting Farrell to 15 is basically looking for a way to get Ahki in the team. Which is fair enough, Ahki's looked decent so far, but I think it displays a bias towards imports that you often see in the Irish game (and sometimes from provincial coaches, not just supporters). We're comparing a guy who's here a wet week and has had a couple of good games against middling opposition, to one who is Connacht's player of the season so far, and who on current form is a shoo-in for Pro 14 team of the season, and has an outside chance of being Pro 14 player of the season.

Our best centre pairing is Farrell-Aki, and if anyone has to shift position to be accommodated or bench it should be Ahki.

Really Great news. Would love to see him playing fullback sometime with an Aki/Ahki midfield with Healy and one from Ade/Ili/Leader/Kelleher on the wings.

That's great news. Really rate him. Seems to be improving with every outing. Wrong Farrell in the Ireland Squad

Superb. He currently has most defenders beaten & most offloads in the league, just ahead of Charles Piatau and Steff Evans in both cases. When you consider he's playing a fairly boshy 12 role (second most carries in the league), whereas they're back three players, those stats are just phenomenal.

All right. Oppositions were weak but still we can't say Connacht attack is in bad shape. 2 week-ends, 4 games for main squad and Eagles : 187 points scored

So as I expected we're not short for back-row.
Connolly/Gallagher have found their rythm, and could feel hard done by when

McKeon comes back next week
Butler in 2 weeks
and SOB in 4 weeks.

Good to have that depth
