From listening to AF last week he was speaking about trying to convince someone to move from the other side of the world for a 1 year contract but they were hopeful of getting it across the line, so I assume Vermuelen is not the individual they were speaking about but maybe looking at him as future potential.

Wonder is this the Loose Head cover Friendy was mentioning recently, He was on the bench last weekend vs Leinster Development.
21 year old Belgium U18 International who arrived a couple of seasons ago at Trinity as a No.8, but was converted to Loose Head by Tony Smeeth.
Was talk of him getting into Leinster.

Watching playback of weekends friendly against London Irish on Connacht Rugby You Tube page.

As was concern for a good few fixtures over last season or two, another case of Men against Boys physically.

Against teams with power up front and pace/skills out wide we are in for a lot of trouble. Replacing Quin with Fifita alone just isn't enough.

Lose Papa & Fifita and we are an extremely lightweight outfit up front, as the big hits kept coming in 1st half and Connacht's biggest/most dynamic carriers were stopped dead in their tracks or driven backwards.Lots of errors from Conancht at set-piece simply because of the pressure Irish were able to apply due to their greater size and physicality..Irish could have kept the ball tight and made life miserable for us, but they have some great firepower out wide to hurt teams with also.

Better second half, but the first try would not have been given in a competitive game. Final pass to Prendergast was definitely forward...

Or Chaume from Lyon, free international agent, too, and interesting medical joker.

Or smart idea, there's somewhere a guy called Conan O'Donnell...

Ah Stop, Always thought he had the potential to be a future Connact captain. Loved the way he played and was a genuine nice guy to boot. Another player who unfortunately was taken too early from playing the game
Been a tough few years for him. Hopefully he can get himself right and wishing him health and happeness in his next chapter.
You never know, maybe we'll see him in Murtys some time!!!

Desperately sad that Sean O'Brien has had to step away. Gave everything he had every time he pulled on a jersey. Will be very sorely missed.

Greg McGrath, prop from the East, joining us next season - we're going to be light enough there until Bucks is back to us.

Shayne Bolton confirmed as coming to Connacht.
Only footage of him is Schools & Uni level so we're talking about potential here, rather than signing the finished article...

Gutted we are loosing him. Been an excellant player and you can currently see why we need him with our inconsistant defensive performances this season..
Indo says IRFU are giving us a green light to sign NIQ lock!! Who will we sign from 'Aldi' or will Andy be allowed shop in BT's ;)

Best of luck to Quin and his family for the future!
You never know, we might be able to get him to Murtys for a farewell pint

He'll be such a loss to us - but equally can't begrudge him a thing. He's an absolute gentleman and hope he prospers going forward.

Speculation by John Fallon that Quinn Roux is heading to Toulon, hopefully not true.

Edit; Now confirmed by Connacht Rugby that he is leaving.
