I was watching the Quins v Scarlett's match and just thinking how much better the Scarlett's were, winning away from home just like Munster last year. Little old Connacht putting it up to the invincible Saracens, Ulster beat the Tigers and the Edinburgh v Munster game was top class. Is the English Premiership that much better that BT want to pay them fortunes? I just don't get it.
Part of me wants them to go and play with France in their own competition, it would never be as exciting as the Celtic nations and the passion and flair that we bring.

gotta laugh at the english teams, the 'small' irish team putting it up to the premiership leaders.
leicester lost.
quins lost.
northampton lost.
from what i read, Perpignan has sent there strongest team to glaws. haha checked, 7-0 after 6mins.
no for cardiff to beat exeter

Going up to the Amlin Friday night and waiting to see if I can come across a relatively cheap HC ticket. Tickets on ERC website are all in the high price category. Its a real pity the two Dublin HC finals have been all French affairs which makes it a hard sell and at the prices they are looking for currently think there will be plenty of empty seats.

seems to be the general heineken cup thread.
i seen there connacht sent an email and few other companys trying to push the heineken cup final.
followed the link to ticketmaster and a good bunch of tickets left for €65 upwards.
went to another website and alot of people are badly trying to sell there's now, that failed badly for them. even on ebay some people are selling for €40 and €30 if you buy 4.
got me interested with them prices, wont bother me going but if i can get good ticket at a good price i might go or even head up on the day seeing if there going cheap outside the aviva.
has anyone else's head been turned and thinking of going?

I dont think any Irish Team will win the Heineken Cup this year, and so in that situation, our best bet is if Munster get through to the Quarter Finals tomorrow, as I believe Leinster will take the Amlin more seriously than Munster

From a Connacht HC Qualification viewpoint, Ulster into HC Quarter finals, probably away to Saracens which is winnable, Leinster or Munster away to Harlequins with the other one into the Amlin. Still a good chance of qualifying again for next year.

29-20 ft. Good result for Leinster but I'm sure they'd have liked more tries. May regret their earlier poor performances.
Down to Munster now. Should get a bp win at home to Racing but all the pressure is on them. If they get the game won and a try or two in the bag by half time they should be able to push on for the bp.

Leinster needing a win with bags of tries against Exeter have the bp and lead 26-17. Need a few more tries to put the pressure on Munster against Racing Metro A/B side tomorrow.
All credit to Exeter they are giving it a real go. Very enjoyable game.

Well after a poor weekend to date for Irish Rugby, the potential quarter final standings don't look as rosy as you'd hope.
Pool 1:
Winner of tomorrow's game should win the pool but Racing still have a shout too and positively for Munster, Racing have to play Saracens at home in round 5 which will either turn the group Munsters way or ensure that Racing are out of the running before they come to Thomond Park thus turning it into a potential 5 pointer for Munster. Saracens didn't impress me last week but I'd take them to edge out Munster tomorrow. Munster should reach 20 points though for a best 2nd place spot.
Pool 2:
Leicester got away with it in Treviso who seem to always go heartbreakingly close at home. Toulouse suffered a setback at Ospreys. Still all to play for there. I'm unconvinced by any of the 3 teams in that pool. Maybe Toulouse will do enough. 19 is the most I see a 2nd place team finishing on.
Pool 3:
Harlequins look good for one of top seeds now. I'd take them to beat us and Biarritz and finish on at least 28. Biarritz will probably get 2nd now but looking at the other groups, I'm afraid this group will probably be the one where the 2nd place team will miss out.
Pool 4:
Ulster are still in charge but I'm sure they're disgusted with themselves. Castres still involved. I'm sure Ulster don't want to have to go there with Castres still in the hunt.
Pool 5:
Clermont look formidable but they have flattered to deceive before so lets see how they go but they should canter to a top 2 seeding now. Leinster now need a minimum of 9 and probably 10 from their last 2 games. Won't be easy but that last gasp try at least threw them a lifeline their performance on the day didn't deserve. From a Connnacht viewpoint if Leinster head in the back door into the Challenge Cup, it'd be good news for our hopes of HC Rugby in 2013/14.
Pool 6:
Interesting pool, Cardiff and Sale have been hopeless, 2 teams could come through this pool making life difficult for Leinster and potentially Munster.
