He also spoke about how Bundee was the only ever present in the centre last year, and didn't put a foot wrong as well as highlighting the fact that Bundee and Robbie had a great partnership here. His overall point was that we have serious strength and depth in the centre, and that it will be a tough decision, but his starting pairing would be Henshaw and Ringrose. Fair enough really. So, not a w$%^er IMO.

To be fair a lot of people would have Robbie and Ringrose as Ireland first choice centres. O'Driscoll is entitled to his opinion as much as anyone else.

If he has one older sibling then he would be the Second Rouw. ;)

Dylan Tierney, Ryan Lomas, Niall Murray, and Colm Reilly all made the u20 6 nations squad. Cian Huxford, Hugh Lane, and Conor Hayes were there or thereabouts. Lane is injured, not sure about the other two.

I had to check my bookie account to make sure I took that 6/1 on Jack for Japan ...

Delighted for the new caps, hopefully they get some game time.

Interesting that while Farrell is one of 5 centres that were called in, Jack has pushed Byrne out of the squad

Dillane is the only forward to make the 6 Nations Squad for the England and Scotland games
Aki, Blade, Carty and Farrell all make it as backs

Fantastic news for the Connacht lads

Roux, and Bealham can be especially disappointed
Along with Buckley and Thornbury

A more balanced and realistic appraisal of how individuals performed in the November internationals

Quinn Roux is rated highly, and barring injury or drop in form I think he'll go to Japan.

I see Mick Cleary in today's Telegraph has five Irishmen in the "Team of the November Internationals" including Kieran Marmion at 9. What price now the snide dribblings of Neil Francis?

Yeah felt bad for Finlay, he may be back behind Ryan now. He had a middling game but to be fair to him the US loosehead collapsed the scrum in 2 of the first 3 scrums without being penalised and on the third they were being marched backwards but managed to get the ball out, which was fairly common throughout the game. He did end up going backwards once I think but overall he scrummaged strongly.

By the time Ryan came on the US loosehead was absolutely knackered and when he was replaced Cian Healy was on who is about ten times the scrummager Kikcoyne is.

Of course Schmidt probably knows all that but at the same time Bealham probably needed to be putting in a few more dominant tackles and ruck clearances, though looking at the size of that US team that might have been a big ask.

Verdict on Heaslip's commentary hasn't changed. A wonderful commentator if you want to hear about how great any Leinster players involved are.

Took his chances well. Not a very cohesive squad (obviously). Would’ve been a bit much to get Tom Farrell in there, but think he would’ve added something to the backs.
