The Huntsman Inn, opposite the "G" hotel has free parking, accommodation and good food. Not the cheapest but good quality and only 3 mins from the ground.
4D, I'm surprised you're letting them all get away with disparaging comments about the atmosphere in the enclosed stand ...
I am glad to see your recovery from an away trip is getting quicker and that you got back from Paris in one piece without the help of Mrs Fourdogs this time

Actually, they're clamping down (har har) on parking in the G, and the car park across the road closes 90 mins to an hour after final whistle. If you're gonna have a few and leave the car, the G is usually spot on tho.

Dont know if you're red or GREEN. Long timer on the Main stand- said no to Clan Stand as I like where I am. Great atmosphere with gentle abuse of opposition!! (yeah right) Extra parking always at City Hall (Galway City Council offices) town side of Sportsground, or Moneenageisha Community College, just opposite Eye Cinema off Dublin Road. Both 4-5 euro parking for the match. Each less than 5 mins from grounds.

I'm just about to leave work, so I'll try to respond tomorrow, but if you're driving, we'll be able to help you with parking. If you plan to stay overnight in Galway, it will be even easier. Just know, that the ground is a very short walk from the city centre, and you should be able to get parking on the evening, that's not more than 15 minutes away, and most likely, a lot closer

There is some parking close by. There is a car park about 3 or 4 minutes walk away, but it can fill up early. If you know Galway at all, then all you need to do is find parking around the city. The ground is a very short walk from Eyre Square.
If you're not familiar with the area, let us know, and we'll try to help some more

The Clan Stand has the majority of Connacht season ticket holders, and I personally think the better atmosphere, but I know some fans who love the main stand, and wouldnt swap it.
The Clan Stand is fully covered, and quite shallow so when the fans get noisy, it can be very good. The Main Stand is covered, but open at the sides, with a very high roof, so you are more likely to get wet if it rains. The Clan Stand faces west, so if it's a sunny evening, a good pair of sunglasses can be very helpful.
Both should be the same price, but the Clan Stand tends to sell out first
