Connacht and Munster play the two SA teams over the same two weekends.
One Charter aeroplane takes us all from Shannon to Johannesburg on the Thur night.
One team goes to Port Elizabeth, the other to Bloemfontein. A week in Capetown for the supporters and then on the following weekend we swap venues.
Then we all get back on board the same plane on Sunday for the overnight flight back to Shannon and work on Monday morning.
At least the engines won't freeze up sitting at the Airport in Johannesburg.

It has meandered off to a whine about Season tickets. Can we either open a new thread on STs or stick to topic....such as the thoughts on the bullish comments from the Pro14 leadership about expanding beyond in the future, most notably in US.

Yeah you're bang on the money here unfortunately. It's essentially shrugging their shoulders and saying "If you don't like it, there's the door, collect your refund on your way out.", can't imagine many, if any at all will take them up on that offer, and I think they knew full well too.

I'm not really that bothered either and as suggested I would probably have bought the season ticket anyway.
However, I really dislike the way the branch interacts with fans and this is just another example of them not really being too concerned with what season ticket holders think. They had an opportunity to appease the most avid of supporters and decided to suggest that if you weren't happy you could have a full refund, I found that to be fairly cold and not really in the spirit of doing business with your best customers on a continuing basis.
The other thing that this has proved to the branch is that they can do what they like and people will still buy the tickets which is a message I personally wouldn't want to send.

The ST was advertised as 11 + 3 games, now its 10 + 3 , I recognise that this was effectively outside of Connachts control but to simply come out and say to your loyal supporters who have paid well in advance that you can take it or leave it is very poor and leaves a lot to be desired.
It's not a deal breaker , but it wouldn't have killed them to show a little love to the STH.
This sums it up for me - they've pretty much said "like it or lump it". Some sort of good will gesture needed to be made - it's still not too late, they could add something to the season ticket holder packs and flag that it is being added for that reason. It doesn't even really matter what it is.

I know I'm kind of missing the point but I'm not too bothered by it, the value may have been slightly diluted but the ST is still good value overall, would be nice to receive some sort of meaningful gesture from the club in response to it but in fairness they can't really be blamed, a pity they jumped the gun yesterday though. Maybe it was just an honest mistake yesterday but it still doesn't look the best...

Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

I agree with you Sligsup we all more than likely would have paid the same price for the ticket. But that would have meant the increase of the season ticket price as the saving per game would have been reduced.so value for money would have gone down

It's not the branches fault. They started selling the tickets back around March. How were they to know.
Pretty stupid of them to announce 11 home games though, and then realise they made a mistake.
